Can you really make money with change?

1980 Australian 1 cent coinYour editor was recently browsing a local car boot sale at 6:30AM and discovered three mint rolls of one-cent Australian coins dated 1980; each roll containing 50 coins. I enquired after the price and purchased the lot for $18.

Later that day, I was talking with a coin delaer at Collectorama, an antique and collectables fair held in Nambour Queensland; he showed me he was selling individual 1980 one-cent coins for $2.00 each. Wow! I said, 'How does it get any better than this?'

When I got homew and checked-out EBay, the price there was $3.00 per coin.

Can you make money with change? Well... can you?
