How do you begin to have money when, your whole life, you have been taught to spend it?
The money that we use today is designed to be spent and that's what most people do with it; they spend it. We are taught to spend money at a young age when our parents give us something called "pocket" or "spending" money. Despite its name, pocket money rarely stays in our pockets but is quickly spent and transferred from our pocket to another person's pocket. This early entraining to spend money is unwittingly used to create a new generation of consumers.
Rarely, are children taught to have-money. Wealthy people have money while poor people spend all of the money they have. Having money requires you to not-spend some of the money that comes into your life. Certainly, you need to spend some money to acquire things that you require, for example, to pay your rent, buy food or go to the movies.
