7 Million Ounces of Silver Found

Odyssey Marine Exploration has located a sunken cargo ship containing 7 million ounces of silver; also pig iron and tea. The interesting thing is how much the value of the silver has increased in 72 years.

In 1941, the 7 million ounces of silver on board 'SS Gairsoppa' were valued at 600,000 pounds. Today, that same silver, is worth a cool 150 million pounds (US$ 234M).

Is that a 250% increase?

According to this chart, the majority of that increase was between 2002-2010
