Possible Real Estate Boom In Pacific Ocean
Written by Stephen Outram
With the US economy struggling and jobs scarce, many people are looking to relocate; could a newly emerging continent provide some attractive ocean-view possibilities?
It was reported in “Science Daily,” that scientists were shocked to discover a new continent the size of Texas being formed in the North Pacific Ocean.
No country has yet claimed sovereignty over the emerging continent, but it may just be a matter of time before the flags are raised.
It's formation appears to be in early evolutionary stages and initial investigations suggest it could hold some answers to the very creation of Earth itself.
The floating material appears to be formed of a diverse collection of hydrocarbon-type components, which clump together easily, becoming more and more dense.
It's not clear how long it may take for the floating mass to become solid and stable, but given it's current growth rate, it may be just a few years.
If no one country claims the continent, then realtor's may create a scheme where individuals can purchase acre plots, similar to the Mars and Moon sell-off in the eighties. redeemable when the area is more accommodative.
In the mean time it has been suggested that “Plastropolis,” as it has been dubbed, may be useful for a different type of Olympic games. With its diverse and varied environment providing unusual objects, many new games could be created.
Some early suggestions include:
- How many bottle tops can a Albatross chick eat before it dies?
- How many tiny plastic-particles can a fish consume before it can no longer reproduce?
- What is the shortest time it takes for a full-grown pelican to drown itself using a plastic bag?
- How many plastic bags can a diving Royal Tern carry around it's neck before can no longer feed itself?
- Sea bird plastic-particle eating competitions and
- Turtle plastic-bag swallowing competitions
“How long will it take for 6.7-billion incredibly stupid and insane people to completely fuck-up the most beautiful and amazing planet in the solar system?"
I ask, "How does it get any better than this and what else is possible?"
